A scarce first edition of the last book of poetry by Virginia-born Christopher Pearse Cranch (1813 - 1892), poet, painter and famous friend of the Boston Transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson, to whom he dedicated a series of doodled illustrations interpreting the latter's 1836 work, "Nature."
