Title in white to spine, author name in black. 184 [185] pp. CONDITION: Near Fine, with former owner's name to front endpaper and an old price in pen. Dust jacket is Very Good, and not price clipped. Small fold and quarter inch closed tear on upper rear panel, and some rubbing along rear joint of jacket. A few small chips missing on upper front edge of jacket. Book is otherwise clean, with no bumping, hinges in order. Illustrated with 60 black and white photographs by John Swope. This non-fiction work was written by Steinbeck as a patriotic contribution to the war effort during World War II, and promoted for the parents and families of Air Force personnel, or those considering enlistment.
