Buck must learn to work with the pack, adapt to harsh environments, endure hunger, privation and harsh treatment at the hands of his masters. Told from the dog's perspective, it become apparent that matters of character extend even to our canine friends--and enemies. First serialised in the "Saturday Evening Post" in 1903, the book came out in book form the same year, and has enduring popularity today. Massachusetts Artist Abigail Rorer's graphically bold prints are wonderful additions to the text.
