Mostle clean and lightly toned. Hinges in order. The Author of these reminiscences, Evelyn Blantyre Simpson, (1855-1920), was the sister of a friend of Stevenson's, Walter Simpson. Their father, Prof. James Young Simpson was a specialist in obstetric medicine at the Univ. of Edinburgh, pioneering the use of choloform during childbirth, among other achievements. Eve wrote a number of books of biography and of folklore in the lowlands, helping to support her eight brothers and sisters after the early death of their parents.
