Later, he bred and exported animals for scientific research in Finland. His study of the behavior of the wolverine, (the topic of this book,) followed in Sweden. Krott's facination with the arctic wolverine leads him to adopt a number of pups and bring them up at home, where he finds them companionable despite a reputation for being aggressive and nasty. The travails of releasing his pack back into the wild forms the drama of this story.
