Portland, Maine's Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882), one of the most influential poets of the nineteenth century, and part of the New England fireside poets, is best known for for his works, "Paul Revere's Ride" "The Song of Hiawatha," and "Evangeline," all of which are included in this volume.
