Sophie has had a background of her own childhood trauma to deal with. The work has been noted for its progressive views on the deaf. It was also reworked into a play. CONDITION: Very Good Plus. Some scuffing to the applied cover image. However, the wraps remain bright, and the interior is clean and bright. There is a small, neat undated inscription to the half title page in old ink.OCLC 427566936. Elfick and Harris 86. Advertising indicates first edition, see p. 75.
