Otherwise, item is sound, and has mild toning. **The evolutionary history of nautiloid cephalopods is traced through different eras, and reasons for their near-extinction are discussed. The Author, Dr. Kummel, was Professor of Geology at Harvard from 1952 to 1980. His work here re-considers samples held and first delineated by Dr. Spath at the British Museum in a1927 publication on the subject.
