The protagonist is tracing an international jewel thief and smuggler from Valdez, Alaska up the Yukon trail of the gold miners by dog sled, using his wireless radio to keep in touch with base, called the Secret Service of the Air. Bears, sled dogs and lots of snow make this a breezy choice for a long hot summer!
