This consists of the official Portuguese government quadrennial report from the General Overseas Agency, on the African colony of Mozambique. Included are many maps, tables and articles describing the condition of the indigenous people, educational law and legislation, the legal system, public works, transportation, agriculture, etc. Many fold-out maps, in color. This was a transitional period, during which the roots of Mozambique's struggle for independence from four hundred and fifty years of Portuguese colonial control would begin, erupting into armed conflict within the next decade. The author was later made Vice Admiral of the Portuguese Navy.
