Included are many photographs and family reminiscences of her life around Boston, at her family's hotel on Appledore Island, and later in Europe. There are well-written sketches regarding her connections to other Boston-area literati, such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, and her regular correspondents Annie Fields and John Whittier. There are 21 of her poems included, 56 illustrations or photographs, and an index. First published in 1962, this is the revised and expanded edition.
