Printed by Stephen Daye Press, Brattleboro Vermont. Hard cover, 8vo., in terracotta cloth over bevelled edged boards, pages untrimmed, 327 pp. Condition: Very Good Plus with only a few marks to boards and moderate age-toning to pages. Otherwise tight. Some pages unopened. Concerns the history of Eleazar Wheelock's (1711-1779) involvement in the founding of Moor's Charity School of Lebanon, Connecticut, and New Hampshire's Dartmouth College. The publication of this variety of original letters enlighten us to contemporaneous attitudes toward those indigenous people by their European benefactors, and show the lengths to which Wheelock went to secure funding for these enterprises, upon being ejected from the tent, as it were, of the Great Awakening, for over-zealous proselytizing.
