Frontispiece photo of the author. Eleanor Gates (1874-1951) was an author, journalist and dramatist, and this was her most famous work. Seven of her works were staged on Broadway. She founded the first woman-owned film production company, the Liberty Feature Film Company, in 1915. Poor Little Rich Girl, starring Mary Pickford was released in 1917, one of the two films the company brought out. (Shirley Temple would reprise the role in a1936 re-make.) Condition: Near Fine. No foxing. Bright and tight. Dust Jacket is Very Good, showing some darkening and wear to spine, and minor soiling. Unclipped.
