The editor, John Howard Whitehouse (1873 - 1955), was an employee of Cadbury, and lived in their Bournville model village. There, he campaigned to establish a national memorial for John Ruskin, whom he had studied at Mason Science College in Birmingham, England. He later founded the Bembridge School in the Isle of Wight and became a Member of Parliament.
