"He wanted to to accomplish the Odyssey for himself, to find out what songs the siren sang, to catch a glimpse of Helen's golden hair above the ramparts of Troy, to eat lotus in the island of the lotus-eaters, to end his adventures in the exquisite island from which Odysseus originally set out and to which he ultimately returned." (from the blurb) Sadly, shortly after the author visited, Ithaca suffered a major earthquake destroying much of the area and its buildings. CONDITION: Very Good Plus.
