An anthology of verse written in English by 108 Indian poets, spanning the years of the mid-nineteenth century to the 1970's. This volume was important in establishing the study of Indo-Anglian writers. Editor Vinayak Krishna (V.K.) Gokak (1909-1992) was a highly celebrated Oxford-educated scholar and writer from India, winning the Jnanpith Award in 1990 for works in the Kannada language, for his epic Bharatha Sindhu Rashmi. Condition: Very Good Plus, with some soiling to the half title page. In a Very Good Minus dust jacket, which has some rubbing. Now protected in mylar.
